Yap (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a UGC marketplace connecting brands and creators. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights as a user. By using Yap, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you create an account.
• Profile information: For creators, this includes your social media handles, content niches, and intro video. For brands, this includes your brand name, website, and logo.
• Content: Videos, images, and text submitted as part of campaign deliverables.
• Payment information: Payment details are processed directly by Stripe. Yap does not store your card number or bank account details. We do retain your Stripe account ID and transaction history.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform, and device information such as browser type, operating system, and IP address.
• Communications: Messages sent between creators and brands through the Yap platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Match creators with relevant brand campaigns
• Process payments and payouts through Stripe
• Facilitate communication between creators and brands
• Detect fraud and enforce our Terms of Service
• Send transactional emails such as job notifications and payment confirmations
• Improve the platform based on usage patterns

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising outside of the Yap platform.

4. Third-Party Services

Yap uses the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase: Database and authentication. Your account data and platform activity are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
• Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe collects and processes all financial data. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your information.
• Cloudinary: Video and image storage and delivery. Content you upload is stored on Cloudinary servers.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

• Between creators and brands: When you apply to a campaign, your profile information including your name, handles, and intro video are shared with the brand.
• Service providers: Stripe, Supabase, and Cloudinary as described above.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the new entity.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention or unresolved disputes.

Content submitted as part of completed campaigns may be retained by the brand under the license granted upon approval. Yap is not responsible for deleting content that has already been delivered to a brand.

7. Cookies

Yap uses essential cookies to maintain your session and keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use the platform.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about you
• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to restrict or object to processing
• The right to data portability

10. Children's Privacy

Yap is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify users via email for material changes. Continued use of Yap after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
